This is a diagram of the child finger protector attached to the open hinge side of a door.
These PVC flexible covers run the full height of the door and essentially cover off the hinges, thus making it impossible for small fingers to caught between the door and frame.
Finger protectors can be bought in pairs, so both sides of the door, at the hinge can be shielded off.
